Burger to taste like human flesh

Chefs satisfy human flesh curiosity

To celebrate the return of AMC’s TV Series, The Walking Dead, two chefs in London have decided to conjure up an inspired burger. Nope, it’s not ostrich, zebra, or alligator; it’s a mix of meats to represent the choice meal of the TV show’s zombies – human flesh.

You’ll be happy to know that the chef duo, James Tomlinson and Miss Cakehead, a ‘freelance creative’, didn’t actually use human flesh to make the burgers but instead chose a less-than-appetising combination. The recipe is as follows: pork, veal, bone marrow and chicken livers. Nom.

To make sure that their burgers would actually taste of human flesh, the pair read accounts from various cannibals. Well, everyone’s got to have a hobby. They studied tales from explorer, William Seabrook, who describes human flesh as “good, fully developed veal, not young, but not yet beef” as well as the chilling murderer, Issei Sagawa, who offers this delightful review: “It melted in my mouth like raw tuna in a sushi restaurant."

So, if you have a morbid curiosity, then head to the ever-more quirky East London on Tuesday September 30 for a sinister sample. The exact location is still a mystery and will be revealed on Twitter under the hashtag #TerminusTavern. You know, because beef and basic advertising are way too mainstream.
