Pamukkale is a spectacular place, located in Denizli Province, in southwestern Turkey. In Turkish it means “cotton castle”. The place is classified by UNESCO.

The famous terraces are made of travertine: carbonate minerals, that have been left by the flowing water. The beautiful natural structure is 2,700 metres (8,860 ft) long, 600 m (1,970 ft) wide and 160 m (525 ft) high.

Pamukkale has been used as a natural bathing spot for centuries. The water in these natural pools comes from the hot springs. So water for baths is always warm and filled with minerals. This is one of the most visited places in Turkey.
